The Rooster Park Software Development Team consists of developers, program managers, testers, and designers from some of Seattle's best companies: we have engineers from Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Expedia, Marchex, Medio, WhitePages.com, Expeditors International, and others, plus an occasional post-college superstar. We combine great software skills with people-ready attitudes and an emotional investment in building great things for people who care about the results.
The Rooster Park Recruitment Team consists of experienced, passionate recruiters, focused on getting to know candidates, understanding their skills and goals, and thinking hard about matching the right person to the right job. Our recruiters don't have quotas, and are measured both on finding great matches and on the relationships they build with technical candidates in the Seattle area and beyond.
Scott Ruthfield founded Rooster Park in 2008, when he realized there was an opportunity in Seattle for a technology consultancy obsessed with building great software at reasonable cost, and then quickly expanded to provide boutique recruiting services when engineering leaders in town called and asked for help. Unlike most firms, we're engineering-led.
Scott Ruthfield's been leading software teams for 10+ years. Before starting Rooster Park, Scott was VP of Engineering & Technology for WhitePages.com, a $70MM+, 150-person company focused on people search at massive scale. His work there included building and shipping a suite of new services, including user-generated listings, web service APIs, and significant site redesigns, and transitioning the technology team from a service organization to a product development partner.
Previous to WhitePages, Scott was at Amazon.com, leading business & technology teams focused on a wide range of customer-facing products, from Community (designing and building the first versions of customer-submitted images and discussion boards) to global CRM (driving 250% year-over-year growth on a $70MM base) to Targeted Merchandising (inventing and building the current Gold Box, now Amazon's primary mechanism for targeting bargain-hunters). Before Amazon, Scott spent 5+ years at Microsoft in various program management & leadership roles.
